Triathlon Countdown: 1 Day!

It's tomorrow! I can't believe that the triathlon is tomorrow!

I'm feeling very strong and ready right now. I'm not nervous or worried at all. I'm really excited for the day to just get here already! I had my Pasta Party last night, and it was very motivational. I left there feeling like I can take on the world!

I have a bunch of errands to do today. I'm heading over to the transition area at noon to check out the site and familiarize myself with the transition zone. I've got to go to Erik's Bike Shop and pick up some last minute items to get my bike all ready for the trek. I've got to lay out all of my race day items and triple check that I have everything. I've got to go to the race expo and pick up my race packet. It's going to be a busy day!

But I am ready. I feel so strong and confident today. I sometimes think that's not so good - like if you're too confident you aren't ready for anything. But in this case, I think that confidence is what gets you through the pain.

BRING IT ON!

Hi So, I am a friend of chance's I rea d your comment on his blog and thought that I would pop in a give you a little advice as well. I read what you wrote about backstroking should you feel winded in your swim. If this is an open water swim, I personally wouldnt recommend backstroke. My boyfriend did this during his first OWS triathlon and ended up swimming in circles... ofcourse, swimming is definitely not his strong suit. Just be careful with switching to backstroke in that sighting becomes a big problem. Also, thought id throw in my two cents on the morning of meal. I HAVE to eat in the morning before a race. I get seriously hungry. But I've found, if I get up about 3 hours before the start time for the race, and eat a bowl of cereal and a bannana, that does the trick. Mostly I jsut recommend waking up EARLY to eat if you decide you want to eat pre-race. :) Anwyay, Good luck on you tri, you sound really prepared. I have a tri next weekend here in NC! I don't have a "blogger" acct, but check me out on myspace if you like www.myspace.com/shrinkwrapt
